Dededo Real Estate
Dededo - Sprawling Northern Village
Perched on the coral plateau of Northern Guam is the village of Dededo. The 30 square mile area is the most populated of all the villages on the island, sprawling with 50,167 residents projected in 2010.
Highly desirable, Dededo real estate is some of the most convenient you can find in northern Guam. This village is the essence of urban sprawl with countless fully improved subdivisions. Residential neighborhoods starting in the moderate price range include Astumbo Gardens, Fern Terrace, Kaiser, Liguan Terrace, Harmon Court and Kurason Machanao. You can also opt to live in some other communities such as Y-Paopao Estates, Summer Palace Townhouses, Las Palmas Townhouses, Villa Rosario Condominiums or the popular new Paradise Estates subdivision. With several large parcels that would most likely be developed into more residential housing and retail commercial ventures, there is definitely a lot going on in Dededo.
Whether you are an investor looking for land to develop or you’re just looking for that perfect starter home or second home, we at Pacific Rim Realty can show you everything this sprawling northern village has to offer. Remember to search for any of these subdivisions or complexes in our Guam MLS Search.
If you want to get a head start on shopping, the Dededo Flea Market is open bright and early so that you can get first dibs on the freshest produce and great bargains on many items. Other shopping venues include the Dededo Mall, Compadres Mall, the islands first Cost-U-Less and Micronesia Mall, the largest mall in all of Micronesia. It is host to numerous supermarkets, churches and schools, as well as two golf courses, the Guam International Country Club and Starts Guam Golf Resort, U.S. Naval Computer & Telecommunications Station (NCTS) and the proposed new Marine base. It is also home to the Northern Region Sports Complex, which hosted the 1999 South Pacific Games. This continuously expanding complex has numerous playing fields, a gymnasium with basketball courts and the newly built community swimming pools pictured above.
Because Dededo borders Yigo to the northwest, Tamuning to the southwest, and Barrigada and Mangilao to the southeast, it is easy to reach these locations by car, enjoy more shopping in Tamuning, have an adventure at nearby Tanguissan Beach or pay a visit to the Guam National Wildlife Refuge at Ritidian Point. It has a visitor’s center, an ancient Chamorro village and a pristine white sand beach with lots of shade under groves of coconut trees for picnics and barbeques. If you have children, then living in Dededo will be perfect. The village has an 11,000 square foot skate park, a branch of the Guam Public Library, community swimming pools, as well as many private and public schools.
Dededo is home to Astumbo, Finegayan, Juan M. Guerrero, Maria A. Ulloa and Wettengel Elementary Schools, Vicente S.A. Benavente Middle School, Santa Barbara Catholic School, St. Paul’s Christian School and Pacific Christian Academy. To accommodate the growth in Guam’s most populated village, four new public schools, Liguan Elementary School, Astumbo Middle School, Okkodo High School and Adacao Elementary School were opened.
